top 3 wardrobe tips from the top maternity photographer in Denver
Full disclosure: I am wearing sweats most days and filly silly writing a post on wardrobe BUT as a seasoned maternity photographer in Denver, I have worked with so many expecting moms and know a thing or two about what looks great in front of the camera.
1.) Consider your environment.
When I chatted with the mom in the picture above, I was so exciting that the timing worked out that were were photographing during prime spring bloom season. The mom wanted to lean in to the beautiful spring colors and suggested a pink top. This worked so well with the bright pink flowers as well as the cream colored flowers on the trees and the soft green grass.
When the mom in the image below was contemplating what she would wear, she wanted a dress and since we were in a very green park in late summer, I suggested navy as the main color in her wardrobe. Navy is such a classic color and complements the green grass so well.
2.) Bring on the layers!
I never loved spending a lot of money on maternity clothes. A custom maternity photo session is such a great time to bring out some fun items from your closet that aren’t specifically maternity attire. Moms can incorporate wraps, scarves and hats during the session. These items are not only really easy to switch out but also are wonderful to have on hand for the quickly changing climate here in Denver.
3.) Forget the clothes…sort of
I realize that an underwater maternity session is a bit unusual BUT there’s something so special about the lightness and beauty of an expecting mom in the water.
