Wondering what to wear to your senior session?
I’m here to help. This of course is such a common question and for good reason. If you are a parent, you likely cringe thinking what you wore to your senior pictures.
I work with all my seniors before their session to make sure their wardrobe is in line with the location, works well in photos and fits their personality.
Here are a few tips I give to my seniors before their session
Consider your color palette.Pick a few outfits that reflect you and your personality (we can always narrow down!) Pick a palette of colors you enjoy, this will help narrow down your options. Think I terms of: Blue tones, earth tones, neutrals, pastels.
Consider layers and texture. Even in the summer, I recommend bringing layers to add interest. The summer evenings can quickly cool but also, adding a layer looks great in photos. Think cardigans, jackets, and sweaters- even a fun hat can be a fun addition.
Keep in mind the location of the session. Be mindful where we will be shooting. If you don’t have any Idea of what the location might look like, definitely let me know. If It Is already a busy location with colors and pattern such as RiNo, it Is best to stick to neutrals. But for instance, if you are shooting somewhere already neural it can be fun to add a pop of color!
Lastly, when getting ready for your senior photography session, don’t forget to make sure everything fits properly and is ironed. I also recommend if you will be wearing an item that wrinkles easily to bring it with you and change on site. If you are still struggling with what to wear to your senior photography session, please know that I am a great resource and would love to help!
