Underwater sessions

I am thrilled to offer underwater photography for my maternity and family clients. Growing up, I basically LIVED at the pool. I have always been a water person despite never living near a large body of water. I consider the pool my second home and if you do as well, reach out and let’s work together!

Underwater sessions are $545 and are 30 minutes in length and include a 10 lightly edited images.

Frequently asked questions about underwater sessions:

What age is best for these sessions?

I’ve worked with all ages from 2 and up.  Safety is the top priority and If the child can’t independently swim on their own, a parent must be within arm’s reach at all times.

Do I have to get in the pool with my child?

If your child is a proficient swimmer, no. If they need assistance, you would have to get in and stay very close by, but you don’t necessarily have to be in the pictures.

What should I do to prepare my child for the underwater session?

I recommend that their wear a bright swimsuit that isn’t blue (so it stands out a bit). They are welcome to bring dive rings, toys, etc.  Clear goggles or no goggles at all look the best. Other than that, we just have fun! Kids love these sessions to show off all their underwater tricks.

When should I schedule my underwater session?

I schedule underwater sessions to coincide with when the pool opens. This is to take advantage of the clear water first thing and also gives us a bit more room before the pool gets crowded.

Weekends fill up fast, so if you need a weekend session, please reach out asap. I have more availability during weekdays.

Where does the session take place?

We can either have it at one of the outdoor pools in Central Park (I have a few favorites that work best for this type of session). Or if you have access to a private pool, that works too.
